A computer network, commonly just called a network, is a system of interconnected computers (and devices) that operate interactively. Any number of computers may be connected into a network, from two to dozens, hundreds, thousands or even millions. Think about what would happen if we couldn’t fly planes into Europe & the UK for 6 months or a year. How would this affect the supply of fresh fruit and vegetables? You only need to look at supermarket shelves across Europe to see where the fresh produce is being grown to realize how fragile food security is in many parts of the developed world.
Perhaps we’ve been making a massive mistake in winding down local horticultural and agricultural production in favour of imports. Free trade around the world may have a lot of benefits, but food security is not one of them.

Maybe it’s time to gear up to become more self sufficient and grow your own fruit and vegetables. That way, if the next volcano lasts for a year - like it did in the 1800’s - you will still have food on the table.
