What Is Psychology?
Psychology
Psychology is the study of the mind and behaviour. Behaviour is what we actually do. Unless it is a very well kept secret, none of us can read another person’s mind. All we can do is listen to what they tell us and observe what they do.
This is what makes psychology so fascinating. It is relatively new science, but people have been interested in how people think and why they behave the way they do for thousands of years.
Psychology looks at human and animal behaviour, how the brain works and how it affects behaviour, how people behave in social situations, in groups, how we read, do maths, problem solve, how mental health issues develop and possible treatments, counselling and more.
